Your wedding day is one of the most photographed days of your life. Every detail matters — including your skin. A bridal spray tan gives you a natural, sun-kissed glow that looks incredible in photos, under any lighting, and against a white dress. No UV damage, no tan lines, no risk of burning a week before the big day. Here’s how to get it right.
When to Book Your Bridal Spray Tan
Schedule your spray tan 2–3 days before the wedding. This gives the DHA enough time to fully develop and lets you shower once to rinse off any excess cosmetic bronzer, revealing the natural colour underneath. Booking too close to the wedding (the night before) means you risk bronzer transferring onto your dress. Booking too early (5+ days out) means the tan may start fading before you walk down the aisle.
Do a Trial Run First
Book a trial tan 2–4 weeks before the wedding. This lets you test the shade, see how your skin reacts, and decide between the Malibu or Clear solution without any pressure. Take photos in natural light and under flash to see how the colour reads on camera. If you want to go darker or lighter, you’ll know exactly what to adjust for the real thing.
How to Prep Your Skin
Exfoliate your entire body 24 hours before your appointment — pay extra attention to elbows, knees, ankles, and any dry patches. Shave or wax at least 24 hours prior so your pores have time to close. On the day of your tan, skip moisturizer, deodorant, perfume, and makeup. Your skin needs to be completely clean and product-free for the solution to absorb evenly.
Bridal Parties & Group Bookings
At TANNED TO, bridal party bookings are simple. Each person books their own 20-minute slot, so your bridesmaids, maid of honour, and mother of the bride can all get their glow on their own schedule. No one is waiting around, and everyone gets the same consistent, streak-free result from our automated booth. It’s one of the easiest things to coordinate during wedding week.
After Your Tan
Wear loose, dark clothing after your session — a flowy maxi dress or oversized sweats are ideal. Avoid tight bras, skinny jeans, or anything that will rub against the solution while it develops. Wait at least 6–8 hours before rinsing off. When you do shower, use lukewarm water and let it rinse clear without any use of cleansers or body wash. Your glow will continue to deepen for up to 24 hours and last up to 7 days, or up to 10+ days with proper prep and aftercare.
