If you’re naturally pale, the idea of spray tanning probably comes with one big fear: turning orange. We get it — nobody wants to look like they raided a tanning salon in 2003. The good news? With the right approach, fair skin is actually perfect for spray tanning.
Start with the Lightest Depth
Our automated booth offers four intensity levels, from light to double dark. For fair skin, start at level one. Yes, it might feel underwhelming the first time. But you can always go darker next session. Going too dark right out of the gate is the fastest way to look unnatural.
Choose Clear Over Bronze
Fair skin tends to show cosmetic bronzer more obviously, especially in the first few hours. A Clear solution develops more subtly and gives you a softer, more believable glow. No one will suspect a thing.
Prep Is Everything
Pale skin shows streaks and unevenness more than deeper skin tones. That means exfoliation is non-negotiable. Follow our exfoliation guide to the letter and you’ll be fine.
Build Slowly
The most natural-looking tan on fair skin is the one you build over multiple sessions. Get a light tan, let it fade, then come back. Over time, you can work your way up to a depth that looks like you’ve been spending weekends at the cottage — not hiding in a booth.
Aftercare Matters Too
Moisturize daily. Fair skin tends to be drier, and dry skin sheds faster. That means your tan will fade quicker if you don’t keep it hydrated.
You don’t have to stay pale forever. Book a session and we’ll help you find your perfect depth.
